Kakveisreyroth Sngourn is the first to play the Pin, a Cambodian harp, Since the instrument disppeared about 800 year ago.The harp was pictured in a bas relief at Bayon Temple. Druing the grat Angkor era, hte pin was played in the famous Royal Khmer ensemble.
Images of this were sculpted on temples for Hindugods dating back between the 7th century until the 12th century.
And later, it disappeared some experts say this may have be because of the development of the orchestra.
Nowadays, the orchestra is called pinpeat there is no Pin in the orchestra. The longstanding name , as well as the
bas reliefs on the temples, were the starting points for art researchers.
They then crafted a pelica of the ancient instrument.
Now, the pinpeat orchestra of Angkorian times is brought into modernity.
the team is led by professor Kao Sonanjavei, the create if the instrument. He says he and musicians are studying and
searching for the lost sound of Angkor. Also he said they're writing the new
melodies for pin.
He said he hopes he'll be able to show the world,
especially ypounger generations, to recognise the instrument that was
used to comfort the Angjkorian gods.
